Emmanuel Nahimana, Project Manager, Francophone Immigration Nova Scotia
Emmanuel Nahimana holds a degree in French language and literature (University of Burundi, 1997) and a master’s degree in education within the context of diversity (Simon Fraser University, 2011). In 2007, he settled in Acadia and immediately made friends with the Acadian and Francophone community of Nova Scotia, where he quickly found his place. Firstly, he worked at Équipe de l’alphabétisation de la Nouvelle-Écosse (ÉANÉ) for a project in collaboration with the Fédération acadienne de la Nouvelle-Écosse (FANE), then at Université Sainte-Anne and returned to FANE for the Francophone immigration program. Currently, he has 14 years of experience managing settlement and newcomer inclusion programs. He also benefited from a year’s experience as a Senior Program Advisor at Canadian Heritage in Halifax. In addition, Emmanuel collaborates on various projects focused on cultural diversity, education and immigration across the country.
