For two decades, Serge Quinty has been honing his skills as a communications professional within the Canadian Francophonie. He started out working as a journalist and editor at various media outlets in Ottawa, including Radio-Canada’s radio service and the daily newspaper Le Droit. He also contributed to magazines including Liaison and Infomag. Serge later moved into the field of public relations and project management. While working at the Alliance des radios communautaires du Canada (1999–2004), he oversaw a major project that involved setting up four community radio stations in Benin, Mali and Senegal. Serge has been Director of Communications for the FCFA since 2005, having also served as Secretary-Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRCF) and as President of the Centre psychosocial d’Ottawa. He earned a BA in Communications from the University of Ottawa in 1996, and completed an MA in Sociology at the same institution in 2001.
